Superintendent’s Message

Dr. Marian Ellis brings over 20 years of educational leadership and a passion for student success, driving excellence and innovation throughout our school district.

Dr. Marian Ellis, Superintendent of Clarksville ISD

Dr. Marian Ellis began her tenure as the Superintendent of Clarksville ISD on June 1, 2023, bringing over 28 years of dedicated service in public education. She is a visionary and results-oriented leader known for her commitment to student equity, instructional excellence, and systems-level transformation. 

Now in her third year as superintendent, Dr. Ellis has implemented aligned curriculum systems, strengthened industry, community and parent partnerships, and increased staff capacity through coaching and collaborative professional learning. Her strategic use of data tools and TEKS-aligned resources, has shaped instructional practices at all levels.

Before becoming superintendent, Dr. Ellis served as Curriculum, Instruction, Accountability, State and Federal Programs Director at North Hopkins ISD, Professor of Education at Paris Junior College, Principal at Clarksville ISD, and Asst. Principal at Paris ISD. Her leadership initiatives are to raise STAAR performance above state averages across all tested subjects, emphasizing formative assessment, PLC development, and instructional alignment. 

Dr. Ellis has presented at international, state, and local conferences. She is deeply committed to rural education and believes that every student—regardless of background—deserves a high-quality, engaging, and equitable learning experience.  

Dr. Ellis holds a doctorate in educational leadership and is recognized for her collaborative leadership, transparency, and tireless advocacy for students, staff, and the community.
