CISD Welcomes New Head Band Director

Tiger Nation, help us welcome Stephanie Nelson as our new Head Band Director!!!

Dear Clarksville Band Parents and Guardians, 

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Head Band Director at Clarksville High School. I am excited to join Clarksville ISD and look forward to partnering with you to provide exceptional musical and educational experiences for our students. 

I bring nearly thirty years of experience in music education and educational leadership to this position. Throughout my career, I have served as a Head Band Director and Director of Music, leading successful programs and supporting student achievement at every level. 

Bands under my leadership have earned multiple UIL Sweepstakes Awards and Area Marching Band Finalist recognitions, and I have been honored as a Two-Time Quarterfinalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award. While these accomplishments are meaningful, the greatest reward of my career has been watching students grow in confidence, leadership, discipline, and character through participation in music. 

My vision for the Clarksville Band Program is to create an environment where students are challenged to achieve excellence while feeling supported, valued, and encouraged. I believe that every student can succeed when given high expectations, quality instruction, and a strong support system. 

A successful band program is built upon collaboration between students, parents, administrators, and community members. Open communication and mutual trust are essential, and I look forward to working closely with each family throughout the year. Together, we can provide opportunities that help students develop musical skills, leadership abilities, responsibility, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments. 

As we begin this new chapter, I am excited about the future of the Clarksville Band Program. I am committed to honoring the traditions that have made this program special while working alongside our students to build new traditions of excellence.
