Superintendent's Corner

Hello Staff and Families of CISD,

April has been a strong month across our campuses, marked by focus, connection, and student engagement. Our students and staff approached STAAR testing with preparation and determination, reflecting the hard work happening in classrooms every day. We also appreciated the opportunity to connect with families during "Saturday with the Superintendent" on April 11, where meaningful conversations and shared ideas continue to strengthen our school community. In addition, Funtastic Friday continues to be a highlight across campuses, with increased student attendance and excitement as we create positive, engaging experiences that keep students connected to school.

This summer, we are going to continue our engagement and learning through Summer Success Academy. Summer Success Academy is a focused, high-impact learning experience designed to accelerate student achievement in reading, math, and science while building confidence and closing learning gaps. Through targeted instruction, high-engagement strategies, and hands-on, interactive learning experiences, students actively apply their skills in meaningful ways. All CISD students in 1st through 9th grades in the 2026-2027 school year are invited. Summer Success Academy will be June 2 - June 25, Monday - Thursdays from 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. for students. With consistent progress monitoring and a strong emphasis on student participation, the program ensures learners are prepared to enter the next grade level ready to succeed.

As we move forward, our focus remains clear—every decision we make is grounded in a shared vision of student success, strong employee engagement, and meaningful community support. We are committed to creating classrooms where every student is challenged, supported, and seen; workplaces where staff feel valued, equipped, and empowered; and partnerships where families and the community are actively engaged in the success of our schools. Together, we will continue building a system that not only meets expectations, but sets a higher standard for what our students and community deserve.
