Let's knock STAAR out of the park!! Here are a few friendly reminders!

  1. Get Plenty of Sleep – Aim for 8–10 hours of sleep so your child feels rested and focused.
  2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast – Fuel their brain with protein, fruit, and whole grains—avoid too much sugar.
  3. Arrive at School on Time – A calm, unhurried start helps reduce test-day anxiety.
  4. Stay Positive – Encourage and motivate with phrases like “You’ve got this!” or “Just do your best!”
  5. Limit Screen Time at Night – Avoid phones and video games before bed to help them wind down.
  6. Prepare the Night Before – Set out clothes, pack backpacks, and talk through the schedule to reduce stress.
  7. Avoid Absences (if possible) – Being at school each day of testing ensures they don’t miss important testing windows.
