What are Technology Proficiencies?
The Technology Proficiency Program is composed of
technology modules that help demonstrate basic and intermediate
computer skills. These modules correlate with the State Board of
Education Certification (SBEC)
standards for teachers and align
directly with the K-8 Technology Application TEKS.
(The information from these proficiencies will help the individual
teacher and campus to determine section H of the Texas Teacher STaR
chart and Campus STaR chart.)
The goal of the Technology Proficiency Program is to
help teachers utilize and integrate technology to support student
learning and be compliant with NCLB
Title II.

How Do I Demonstrate Proficiency?
There are 2 ways to achieve proficiency:
-
Demonstration:
In lieu of attending a training course, complete the district
training tutorial example OR create an original document
including ALL requirements listed on the proficiency module
checklist and submit to your district ITS.
OR
-
Course Attendance:
Participate in district or campus level training course OR
attend proficiency related Region 8 workshops.
Guidelines:
-
All proficiency documents need to be the
employee’s original work and in line with job assignment.
-
All proficiencies need to be completed on an
individual basis.
-
All proficiencies must include the skills listed
under the proficiency requirements section of the modules in
order to receive full credit.
-
Proficiency levels need to be completed per
district timeline.
-
You are encouraged to use resources such as
books, the Internet and program help menus. Clarksville ISD
will provide resources for each proficiency on the Instructional
Technology Webpage.
-
Before submitting a complete document, please
refer to the requirements to make sure all criteria is covered.
-
Make sure to include your name and campus in the
footer of each document you have created.
